Meet Tyson Miller, DMD
Dr. Tyson Miller was raised in Henderson, Nevada, where he attended Green Valley High School.
Athletics played a large role in his upbringing, teaching him teamwork, patience, and hard work. Now, he utilizes those skills every day to help his patients get the healthy, beautiful smiles they deserve.
Dr. Miller is thrilled to be back home to practice orthodontics in Las Vegas and Henderson.
Education & Experience
Dr. Miller’s dedication to sports is what ultimately led to his being recruited to play soccer for Brigham Young University.
During his time at BYU, Dr. Miller took a two-year break from education to serve a mission for his church in Santiago, Chile. After his mission, he returned to Brigham Young University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.
After college, he returned to Las Vegas where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from UNLV School of Dental Medicine, graduating Cum Laude.
Dr. Miller then went on to complete a two-year residency program at Jacksonville University where he earned his specialty certificate in Orthodontics.
Why Choose an Orthodontist in Henderson?
While both orthodontists and dentists play crucial roles in maintaining oral health, their expertise and areas of focus differ. Dentists handle general oral care, while orthodontists specialize in correcting teeth alignment and bite issues.
Specialized Training
Orthodontists complete additional training beyond dental school focused on straightening teeth and correcting bites.
Braces & Aligners
Orthodontists are experts in braces, clear aligners, and other orthodontic appliances.
Comprehensive Treatment Plans
Orthodontists design individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific alignment needs.
The Benefits of Orthodontic Treatment
Orthodontic treatment offers far-reaching benefits that extend beyond a straighter smile.
Physically, aligning your teeth and correcting bite issues not only improves the functionality of your mouth, but it also reduces the risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and uneven wear on your teeth. By correcting misalignment, orthodontics contributes to better oral hygiene and long-term dental health.
Mentally and emotionally, having a beautifully straight smile can do wonders for your self-esteem. A smile that you feel confident about can enhance your personal interactions, boost your confidence in social settings, and even positively impact your mental well-being. People who feel good about their smiles are often more willing to smile, which in turn can improve mood and social connections.
Professionally, a great smile can be a valuable asset. Studies have shown that a confident, healthy smile can make a positive impression in job interviews, client meetings, and professional networking events. It communicates confidence, approachability, and positivity—all traits that can be advantageous in professional settings.
Orthodontics isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about investing in your overall quality of life. A straight, healthy smile can enhance every aspect of your life, from physical health to emotional well-being and professional success.
